New impulses, inspiring insights, and forward-looking perspectives
On March 19, 2025, our colleagues Alina and Kati attended the secIT by Heise "Women in Tech" event. This conference provides a platform for women in the tech industry to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
At the welcome session, Johanna Heise, head of the inaugural “Women in Tech” program, introduced herself and her initiative to strengthen the network of women in tech. Her goal is to increase the proportion of women in IT and foster stronger connections among women in the industry.
During a guided tour of the exhibition, attendees had the opportunity to explore the latest developments and innovations in the IT sector from 140 exhibitors. Leading companies such as Bechtle, Baramundi, and EWE showcased their newest products and solutions in IT security and artificial intelligence.
Start-ups and specialized providers were also present, offering innovative approaches and technologies. Siemens presented VR headsets and an interactive test environment, aiming to make IT security more accessible through gamification. Visitors could experience firsthand how the brain processes new knowledge more effectively when it is delivered in a playful and interactive way.
"What impressed us most was the diversity of topics and the opportunity to connect with other women in tech. The panel discussion on artificial intelligence was particularly inspiring and opened up many exciting perspectives. We’re taking away valuable insights and contacts that will support us in our daily work.”
“Siemens’ idea of making IT security more accessible through gamification was especially impressive. Experiencing it directly in virtual reality showed us how effective and engaging learning can be. This approach opens up new paths for knowledge transfer.”
